Mike was born in Spišské Vlachy, Slovakia in 1881.

In 1900, Mike married Mary Mihalek.

Mike and Mary’s first son Michael was born August 27, 1904 in Spišské Vlachy, Slovakia.

After immigrating to the U.S. sometime in 1905, he moved to Dunlo, PA.

His wife Mary and infant son Michael (Mihal) arrived in the U.S. at Ellis Island on November 29, 1905 aboard the Southwark sailing from Antwerp. They then joined Mike in Dunlo.

When Mike’s younger brother John immigrated from Slovakia in 1909, he lived with Mike and his family in Dunlo.

Mike and Mary had 5 more children while living in Dunlo.
Son Paul was born January 28, 1907.
Son Joseph was born November 3, 1909.
Son John was born in 1910.
Their only daughter Margaret was born January 2, 1921.
Their last son George was born September 7, 1923.

In 1927 their son Paul married Mary.

Their first grandchild Raymond was born in 1928 to son Paul and his wife Mary.

At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, Mike and Mary were living on Grier Avenue in Linden, NJ. Still living with them were their unmarried children Mike, Joseph, John, Margaret and George.
