Roseann was born on August 13, 1960 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She was baptized in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Beaverdale. Shortly thereafter, she joined her brothers Michael and John in Great Neck, New York.

After graduating from Cedar Ridge High School in Old Bridge, NJ, she attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In 1979 while in college, she met another student, Rob Esser from Huntington, NY.

Roseann graduated from Northwestern in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree.

Roseann married Robert Worth Esser, Jr. on November 26, 1983 in the Nativity of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Old Bridge. They set up their household in Naperville, Illinois.

On August 24, 1989 Roseann and Rob’s first child, Robert Michael was born in Naperville, Illinois. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.

On March 10, 1992 Roseann and Rob’s second child, Elizabeth was born in Clifton, Virginia.
